On November 28, the Bukhara province court began considering a criminal case against 22 people suspected of participating in the separatist mass riots in Nukus.
According to the Foreign Ministry, during a meeting with Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke about the trial in Bukhara.
He noted the importance of conducting full and transparent investigations, as well as a fair trial for the accused.
In addition, Blinken reiterated the intention of the United States to be a reliable partner for Uzbekistan and to promote prosperity, security and democracy in Central Asia.
