Douglas Frye, senior loan specialist at the Export-Import Bank of the United States, will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan on May 15-19, the Foreign Ministry said.
The visit program includes participation in the first Uzbek-American-Canadian business forum in Navoi on May 16-17.
Douglas Frye will also hold talks with the leadership of the ministries of finance, agriculture, investment and foreign trade, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan (NBU), Asaka Bank and Uzsanoatqurilishbank. At the meetings, The parties are expected to discuss the ways to expand trade within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the NBU and Eximbank, signed during the visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May 2018.
The memorandum provides for $ 100 million worth of project finance for U.S. companies operating in the Uzbekistan market.
Uzbekistan and the U.S. Eximbank resumed cooperation after a 13-year break in September 2017.
