Today, the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun as part of the business program of his state visit to China, the presidential press service said.
They reviewed the ways to expand the strategic partnership with this international financial institution.
In recent years, the portfolio of the AIIB’s projects has surpassed $3 billion; in 2023 alone, the volume of attracted investments reached $1 billion.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke in favor of increasing the volume of funding for projects for the deep processing of strategic raw materials and the implementation of socially important programs on the principles of public-private partnership.
They focused on supporting strategically important infrastructure projects in the Central Asian region and discussed the preparations and holding of the annual meeting of the bank’s board of governors in September this year in Samarkand.
