The President’s New Uzbekistan’s Development Strategy for 2022-2026 Decree provides for the introduction of market mechanisms with guarantees of social protection in gas supply through expediting transformation of the oil and gas sector, the Ministry of Energy said.
According to the State Program for 2022, adopted by this decree, a draft presidential resolution will be prepared aimed at reforming the gas supply system and gradual formation of a competitive market.
The draft defines the transformation of Uztransgazinto a company that will only transport gas.
It is planned to harmonize the Uzbekneftegaz’s organizational and legal structure in line with the standards of the world's major oil and gas companies, including the introduction of cooperation and outsourcing services at state-owned enterprises.
By October, the main requirements for attracting private operators to the activities of Khududgaztaminot will be established. These requirements will apply, in particular, to for liquefied gas and natural gas supplying systems.
