On September 14, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed amendments to the Tax Code lifting car tax for electric vehicles imports.
In particular, the article 459 of the Tax Code is supplemented with the clause 9, which provides lifting car tax for electric vehicles for purchase and (or) temporary import into Uzbekistan.
432 electric vehicles were imported to Uzbekistan in January-July, which is by 2.3 times more than in total during the previous three years. They are mainly imported from China.
Electric vehicles imports are waived from excise and customs duties.
