President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 29 received the Chairman of the Board of the Russian gas company, Gazprom, Alexei Miller, who is in our country on a working visit.
Welcoming the guest, the Head of our State expressed deep satisfaction with the high level of long-term and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
At present, Gazprom is implementing large projects on exploration and development of promising hydrocarbon fields in Uzbekistan, and carries out exports of natural gas.
Large-scale geological exploration works were carried out in Ustyurt region in partnership with the Russian company, following which Jel gas condensate field was discovered. Shahpakhty field is being jointly developed, where to date over 3.5 billion cub. m. of gas have been extracted.
In addition, Gazprom is involved in the projects of exploration and development of the fields in Gissar region, utilization of associated petroleum gases, and assisting to building the capacity of Uzbekistan’s leading industry design institute - UzLITIneftgaz.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the promising projects for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at developing Uzbekistan oil and gas industry, including within the Program for Increasing Hydrocarbons Production for 2017-2021.
Alexey Miller expressed sincere gratitude to the Head of our State for the warm welcome and full support of the joint projects, and expressed readiness for the development of full-scale cooperation with Uzbekistan.
