The Deputy Ministers of Transport of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Abdusamat Muminov and Shoista Saidmurodzoda discussed the construction of a new railway between Panjikent (Tajikistan) and Bulungur/Jomboy (Uzbekistan), Asia-Plus reported with reference to the Tajikistan Ministry of Transport.
According to the report, a draft agreement between the two governments on the transit of dangerous goods through the territory of Uzbekistan was also discussed.
In addition, the parties considered the possibility of resumption of flights between the countries in accordance with the epidemiological requirements, as well as cargo transportation through the Bekabad-Istiqlol-Bekabad railway section and the Patar-Andarkhan checkpoint.
According to the ministry, a protocol was signed following the meeting.
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Tajikistan on June 10-12.
