Shavkat Mirziyoyev as part of his Navoi province trip visited the Navoi State Mining Institute on Tuesday. The Institute hosted the ceremony dedicated to the launch of construction of the 5th hydrometallurgical plant of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex at Auminza-Amantai gold-ore field, UzA reported.
27 projects are to be completed at NMMC in 2017-2026. The construction of the 5th hydrometallurgical plant is one of the most important of them. The project, totaling US$ 396 million, will allow to process 5 million tons of ore per year and create 5,300 jobs.
The President pressed the symbolic button to start the development of the Auminza-Amantai gold and ore fields. The experts of the plant, who were watching the event in a videoconference from Tamdin district, where the hydrometallurgical plant will be built, have detonated the ore mine. The head of state noted the colossal socio-economic importance of the new plant.
Then, the President got acquainted with 27 projects that will be implemented at NMMC. Their total cost is US$ 3.063 billion. Their completion will result in increase of the production capacity of the plant by 30%, with about 31 thousand jobs to be created.
Among the planned projects are the development of Pistali field, construction of the 6th hydrometallurgical plant, expansion of the 2nd hydrometallurgical plant, launch of the 5th stage of development of the Muruntau field and the erection of a complex for the processing of industrial waste, and others.
