Masdar Energy (UAE) has installed four meteorological poles to study wind potential in Tomdi district of Navoi province, the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.

This wass reportedly the next stage in the implementation of the 500 MW wind power plant project in Navoi province.

It was noted that the findings of the study will allow to complete the project’s feasibility study, which will serve as a basis for entering into loan agreements with international financial institutions.

On June 8, 2020, JSC "National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan" and Masdar Energy signed an electricity purchase agreement. The commissioning of this wind power plant is scheduled for 2023.

This i not the only joint project of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and MAsdar Energy in the field of renewable energy. Masdar has also been awarded the contract for the construction of a 100 MW photovoltaic power plant in Navoi province.
