Urgench, Khorezm province hosted the second inter provinces forum on the theme “Cooperation of provincial business in the field of agricultural cooperation, industry and tourism” between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Today, the prime ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, Abdulla Aripov and Askar Mamin also held bilateral talks in Urgench.
“Our main goal is to elevate the two-way trade up to US$ 5 billion. In the near future, it is planned to bring this figure to US$ 10 billion. Steps are being taken to faciltate unhindered flow of goods to the markets of both countries.
The forum has become a unique platform for implementing projects in the areas of cooperation, trade, economic and investment, transport and communications, agriculture, tourism, education. It is also important for establishing cultural ties between the provinces of the two countries
More than 30 deals worth of half a billion dollars were inked at the forum. “The oucomes of this forum show that our provinces have a huge untapped potential,” said the Uzbek PM Abdulla Aripov.
It should be noted that the forum was organized with the aim of further strengthening the close military-strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, exchanging information on the industrial potential and capabilities of the regions, direct cooperation and identifying promising areas.
