On October 25−26 in Nurafshan city hosted the Invest in Tashkent Region Forum, the Tashkent governor’s office said. The forum was reportedly attended by various government delegation, institutional investors, business executives - in total more than 350 attendees from more than 40 countries.
US$ 1 billion worth of deals were signed at the forum, said deputy governor of Tashkent province Jamshid Abdusalamov.
“The policices of the Uzbekistan’s leadership aimed at decentralizing the flow of investments has fully paid off. Direct contacts of Uzbekistan’s provinces with business circles and local authorities of other countries contribute to more efficient and productive cooperation, he noted.
Among the signed deals were the projects for construction of infrastructure facilities and smart city in Nurafshan, integrated tourism infrastructure in the Bostanlyk district, a logistics center in Chinaz and others.
In September, the Government of Uzbekistan approved the Program for the Development of the Industrial Potential of the Tashkent Province for 2019-2020, according to which the volume of industrial output is planned to increase by 1.7 times, while the exports – by 1.4 times.
The 15.3 thousand sq. km Tashkent province with 15 districts and 7 cities, accounts for 15.3% of the Uzbekistan’s total industrial output. The province hosts 6,000 industrial units, Angren free economic zone and the Parkent Farm and Bustonlik Farm pharmaceutical economic zones.
