The Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted the new Qatari Ambassador Sheikh Hamad Al Khajri (stationed in Tehran).
After receiving the credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his posting in Uzbekistan and wished him success in strengthening the bilateral ties.
The parties discussed the promising areas for advancing the Uzbek-Qatari ties, in particular, noting untapped potential in trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
The proposal was approved to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission in the second year-half.
The parties also exchanged views on some regional and international problems.
