President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Creation of Andijan-Pharm Free Economic Zone Decree. The free economic zone (FEZ) is being set up in the Andijan district of the Andijan province, with the validity term of 30 years and possibility of extension, the decree says.
Special tax and customs regimes shall be in force during this term in the territory of the FEZ.
The Uzbek President instructed in Q1 of 2019 to showcase the provided facilities at the FEZ in India and other countries.
The management over the FEZ can be handed over to foreign firms, preference given to the Indian, with experience in the development and management of economic zones subject to approval by the Administrative Council of Free Economic Zones and Small Industrial Zones of the Andijan Province, taking into account the recommendations of the Uzbek Investments Committee and the Foreign Ministry.
