A separate state anti-monopoly body is planned to be created in Uzbekistan through splitting the current State Committee for Assistance to Privatized Enterprises and the Development of Competition into several bodies, the draft 2019 State Program proposed.
The new anti-monopoly body will be responsible for advancing competition, controlling the activities of natural monopoly entities, protecting consumer rights and regulating the advertisement market.
In November 2012, the State Committee on De-monopolization and Development of Competition and the State Committee on State Property Management merged into the State Committee on Privatization, De-Monopolization and Development of Competition, which, in 2017, was reorganized into the State Committee for Assistance to Privatized Enterprises and the Development of Competition.
