The Uzbekistan GDP grew by 7.2% in the first half of 2025 (last year, it had grown by 6.6% during the same period), and this is an indicator that the country's economy is moving into a sustainable expansion mode. the National Statistics Committee said in a report.

The contribution to GDP is balanced between key sectors of the economy. Industrial output grew by 6.6%. The main contributor - the processing industry (+7.1%). Moderately, but positively - the mining sector (+5.1%) and electric power (+3.1%). All this in total gave 1.6 percentage points of GDP growth.

Agriculture demonstrated growth of 4% on 0.6 percentage points GDP contribution. The growth was provided by a natural increase in products: melons (+8.3%), fruits (+6.6%), grain (+4.5%). The growth is not record-breaking, but stable — in all categories of enterprises.

The construction sector added 10.7%. While, the services made the most significant contribution, 4 percentage points, to GDP growth. The overall increase is 8.2%. Logistics, IT and trade (+14.7%) stand out here. The growth of trade and restauration by 10.2% deserves special attention — an indicator of growing consumer confidence.

The total retail turnover increased by 9.7%. Large chains were quite active (+14.9%), but small businesses are not lagging behind (+8.6%). Even informal trade retained its share of 10.4%.

Thus, the 7.2% GDP figure is not only growth. What is more important is that growth is happening in several axes at once. There is no sense of imbalance: neither in favor of raw materials, nor in favor of the budget. The situation is more businesslike than complacent.
