Uzbek Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev met with Pakistani Minister of Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik. Reportedly, the parties discussed the oil and gas sector cooperation between the two countries, and promising joint projects.
The Minister Pervaiz Malik highly valued Uzbekistan's experience in the oil and gas sector, emphasizing that the energy sector was one of the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries, and that both parties were interested in cooperation in this area.
The parties also discussed the high demand for oil and gas products in the Pakistani economy, large imports of liquefied gas, compressed natural gas, and refined petroleum products, recognized that there were favorable conditions for stable and long-term cooperation in this regard, and stressed the need to study relevant organizational issues in detail and develop a joint proposal.
The also focused on engaging Uzbek oil companies in the exploration and development of oil and gas fields in Pakistan, in particular, the modernization of oil production and oil refining plants.
The parties also reviewed proposals for the exchange of geological data, experience in modern technologies in the field, cooperation in the training of specialists, and the organization of training programs.
