President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the framework of the One Belt, One Road Forum in Beijing on Sunday, UzA said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the meeting is an opportunity to exchange views on further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted the Turkey stands ready to to take the ties with Uzbekistan to a higher level, which is in the fundamental interests of the two nations and their people.

Uzbekistan and Turkey have huge potential for developing cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, tourism and other areas, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

During the meeting, the sides paid attention to strengthening cooperation in such areas as trade, economy and investment, modernization of tourism infrastructure, implementation of projects in the textile, leather, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, processing of agricultural products and others.
