An Uzbek Labor Ministry delegation, led by the minister Aziz Abdukhakimov, on March 30 visited the Multifunctional Migration Center (MMC) of Moscow city, the ministry said on its Facebook page. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the center and discuss a number of issues, including raising awareness of Uzbek citizens about the services of the MMC.
The Director General of the MMC, Nikolay Fedoseev spoke about the procedure of applying for patent (Russian work permit) and government services to foreign citizens.
The Minister Abdukhakimov during the visit of MMC talked with labor migrants from Uzbekistan, who applied for a patent, learned their opinion about the quality of services in the center. "We are interested in ensuring that our citizens, while in Russia, comply with the Russian legislation, pay taxes and contribute to economic growth in Russia and hence must be fully protected," Abdukhakimov said. "For our part, we are also working to protect their rights."
According to Nikolai Fedoseev, in 2016 about 45% of the total number of those who obtained patents were the Uzbek citizens. "The Government of Moscow is interested in cooperation with states whose citizens come to the Russian capital to work. Therefore, a simple and transparent procedure of applying for patents has been put in place, with no intermediaries involved," the director general of the MMC added.
The sides agreed to expand cooperation, in particular, it is planned to organize the distribution of flyers and booklets on application for patents at airports and railway stations in Uzbekistan.
