Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday launched the Indian Navy's GSAT 7R (CMS-03) communication satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The indigenously developed satellite is India's heaviest communication satellite to date, weighing around 4,400 kg.
This is the most advanced indigenously designed abd developed communication satellite thus far for the Indian Navy. The satellite would strengthen Navy’s space-based communications and maritime domain awareness.
