The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has allocated a $14 million grant for a project aimed at developing the information technology education ecosystem in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Digital Technologies said.
Under the initiative, titled "Enhancing Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Potential through the Improvement of the IT Education Ecosystem in Uzbekistan," young people will receive systematic training over a four-year period in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, programming, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital marketing.
The project also plans to provide advanced training for 500 IT specialists and educators. Furthermore, startup incubation programs will be launched with the participation of leading South Korean experts.
Implementation is scheduled to span from 2026 to 2032, during which two modern IT hubs will be established in the cities of Nukus and Karshi. Additionally, 14 IT centers will be constructed and fully equipped across seven districts.
This initiative is expected to play a vital role in advancing the education system, boosting youth employment, and fostering innovative entrepreneurship throughout the country.
