Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Creation of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Decree Monday reorganizing the Office of the President of Uzbekistan into the Administration of the President.

Uzbekistan foreign minister Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov on Monday met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul where he discussed issues of mutual interest between the two nations with a special focus on major economic, regional and transit projects, Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process and the fight against terrorism.

The Office of the President of Uzbekistan has been reorganized into the Administration of the President, which will ensure the activities of the head of state and monitor the execution of his orders and decisions, the sources in the government told the Tashkent Times.

Uzbek PM Aripov signed a resolution on Friday instructing the central and local authorities to draft specific work regulations. According to the document, from now on various level meetings, councils, sessions and other events shall be held only on a schedule, maximum 2-3 times a week and must last 1-1.5 hours. If this event is of national level, then a maximum of 2 hours.

A teen couple of 17-year-old girl and 19-year-old guy allegedly committed suicide by sitting on the railway holding hands on Saturday at 2:05 AM in Surkhandarya province. They died on the spot after an electric locomotive hit them, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
