The chief state sanitary inspector Nurmat Otabekov expressed his opinion on when the lockdown could end in Uzbekistan.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday spoke to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan  over the phone. At the beginning of the conversation, the two leaders exchanged sincere congratulations on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, wished to each other and the fraternal peoples of the two states the health, prosperity and well-being.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan at 23:00 on April 22 stands at 1,716, the Ministry of Health said.

Uzbekistan delivered two batches of humanitarian aid to Russia, the Uzbek embassy to Moscow said in a statement. The first shipment was delivered to the Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport on Saturday, the second – today on April 20. Uzbekistan Post has partially resumed sending airmail starting from April 20, the IT Development Ministry said. Since March 20, due to the announcement of the lockdown measures, mail has been sent by land transport.
