The State Committee of Uzbekistan for Defense Industry, together with one of the country's major enterprises for special equipment, Kran Va Maxsus Texnikalar LLC, has manufactured the prototype of Tarlon light armored vehicle.
LAV Tarlon is designed to transport personnel, perform special missions in high-risk areas, and is used for fire support of mobile groups and checkpoints, combat patrols, guard of troops and motor transport convoys, providing protection for crew and troops from bullets and explosions.
"In terms of its technical and combat characteristics, Tarlon is comparable to similar LAVs from foreign countries," the committee added.
