On December 16 was held the extraordinary session of the Bukhara regional council of people's deputies, the press service of the Bukhara regional administration said.
Bukhara region khokim Muhiddin Esanov, appointed in 2011, has been relieved of his post. On the proposal of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uktam Barnoyev has been elected for the position of the Bukhara region khokim (governor).
Barnoyev was twice appointed to the post of Samarkand region khokim - in 2008 and 2010.
