On November 24 the UzLiDep’s Presidential candidate Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with voters in Tashkent city.
He started his speech saying that the passing of the First President Islam Karimov was a great loss for all the people of Uzbekistan, and that “to remember the late President’s merits to the country and the people is the duty of each and everyone".
To perpetuate the memory of this great man, the candidate, on numerous requests from activists, proposed to create a large square in downtown Tashkent, which will bear the name of Islam Karimov and which will host the monument to the First President.
Also next year the construction of a business center -Tashkent City will be launched in an area of 70 hectares at Uqchi Olmazor residential area, with $ 1 billion of corporate funds to be invested.
