A new Center for Digitalization of Fuel and Energy Complex and AI Implementation will be established under the Ministry of Energy, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced during the government meeting Monday.
Currently, Regional Electric Networks employs 25,000 people, while Hududgaztaminot (the national gas distributor) employs 16,000. According to government data, the lack of a digital workforce management system leaves executives at these electricity and gas supply companies in the dark regarding the daily activities and efficiency of individual employees.
Meeting data revealed that this management gap has caused labor productivity in the sector to lag 1.5 to 2 times behind international benchmarks. Furthermore, resolving infrastructure emergencies takes 3 to 4 times longer than it should.
The newly formed center will conduct a comprehensive stress audit across the entire "production–transmission–distribution–supply" chain, as well as the coal, liquefied gas, and fuel oil supply systems. The findings will be used to draft multiple development scenarios for the energy sector.
Additionally, a digital system will be launched to track and manage each employee's daily operations. Artificial intelligence will also be deployed to analyze data from the automated electricity and gas metering systems (ASKUE and ASKUG). A dedicated platform will run alongside this to flag anomalous fluctuations in readings and other data anomalies.
Finally, 10 primary Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be introduced for all 106,000 workers across the energy sector. The core metrics will focus on emergency and planned outages, loss reduction, accounts receivable, power reserves, and the execution of maintenance programs.
