The government of Uzbekistan delivered several trucks of humanitarian aid via Turkmenistan for the people of Iran, the Foreign Ministry’s press service said.

The cargo included food items—flour, rice, sugar, pasta, sunflower oil, canned goods—as well as medicine and medical supplies.

In the hand-over ceremony were present the Governor of the Iranian city of Dergaz Mojtaba Bazmara;, the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's representative office in Razavi Khorasan Province /Adviser to the minister Ali Masoumifar and the Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Ruzbekhani. Uzbekistan was represented by the Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov.

Iranian officials expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the humanitarian aid and attention shown to the Iranian people.

They noted that this initiative was a testimony of the traditions of friendship, solidarity, and mutual support between the two countries, the statement concluded.
