The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change will move to the New Tashkent, announced at a press briefing on Monday the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Sherzod Khidoyatov.

According to him, the relocation of the ministries is due "in the next few days." Temporary buildings for a number of ministries and departments are being erected in New Tashkent. The Ministry of Energy has already completed the relocation.

"All ministries will be located next to each other as a single complex. They will be housed in temporary buildings. Their current buildings in Tashkent will be put up for sale, and new buildings will be built in New Tashkent with the proceeds," the minister underscored.

He added that the other departments would move in phased manner. Also, according to him, separate transport routes will be organized for the convenience of employees.

"The Ministry of Transport is currently working on how to implement this," Sherzod Khidoyatov said.

At the end of December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the phase I of the new city project. The head of state was then presented temporary buildings made of lightweight structures for the ministries. It was reported that this would help reduce congestion on the streets of the capital.

Then the Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov reported that the Ministry of Energy would also move to New Tashkent.

“The president Mirziyoyev approved the project. The Construction Management company will build a new building for our ministry right in the center of New Tashkent. Not only the ministry, but also all the enterprises in the structure of the ministry. If we are now located in 22 parts of Tashkent, which creates inconvenience, now we will be located in one place. A modern building will be created so that all stages of our work are coordinated and agreed upon. Ministries, departments, business entities will move in stages, new buildings, housing for employees, infrastructure will be built,” the minister said.

In February, it became known that the private Anorbank bought the buildings of the Ministry of Energy and the state company Uztransgaz in downtown Tashkent for 439.6 billion soums ($34 million). However, before the sale of state property, no announcement was made about an auction or sale.
