The Senate passed the Ensuring freedom of conscience of individuals in the Republic of Uzbekistan and approving the concept of national policies in the religious sphere Bill. The Bill has now been sent to the president to be signed into law and to take effect.
As stipulated by the Bill, a special commission will be formed in parliament to oversee the implementation of the key goals outlined in the concept.
The MPs of the Legislative Chamber approved the Bill on February 11. The bill was initiated by a group of MPs and was posted for public input, receiving over 400 comments and recommendations.
