Hundreds of greenhouses, factories and social facilities were found to be violating emission standards in the capital and Tashkent province, the press service of the Ministry of Environmental said.
A special working group led by Deputy Attorney General Sherzod Tukhtaboev, including officials of the Ministry of Ecology and other departments, inspected 762 facilities for compliance with air quality standards - 103 greenhouses, 450 social facilities and 209 industrial enterprises.
The study found that 416 of them (54.6%) violated smoke, dust and gas emission standards.
In particular, 70 greenhouses use low-quality boilers, 83 operate without environmental assessment, and 24 are not equipped with filters for cleaning emissions (some greenhouses have several violations).
In social facilities, 18 cases of burning medical waste and 5 cases of clogged chimneys were recorded.
At industrial enterprises, 40 facilities have not passed the environmental assessment, 108 have no filters installed, 39 use ineffective purification devices, and 29 exceed the established standards for emissions of harmful substances. Some plants also have several violations.
The heads of enterprises were warned to quickly eliminate the violations.
