Tashkent’s Yashnabad district criminal court sentenced three men to 10 days in prison for insulting a pregnant woman on the street. They were found guilty under the Petty hooliganism Article 183 of the Administrative Liability Code.
According to the Tashkent CPD, the victim said when she was returning home from work at approximately 8:45 p.m., three strangers men aged 30-40 came over to her and harassed her. They used obscene language and made abusive gestures.
Then the woman called the police. The men were quickly identified. A video footage released by the police department shows them apologizing and promising that such behavior would not happen again.
“We were leaving a cafe and walking with our friends. We met this woman on the way. I was drunk. I deeply regret what I did and what I said. I apologize a thousand times, please forgive me," said one of the men.
