Heerim Architects & Planners, which was awarded the contract for designing Tashkent Multifunctional Ice Rink Complex, published images of the future ice rink.

This project has attracted a great deal of attention from the local government and the public. Heerim is responsible for the design and CM (Construction Management) works by promoting a world-class competitiveness in sports facility design & CM technology that have been accumulated for decades.

The construction and design works will take approximately 9 months, where the construction will be conducted in the Fast Track system, which aims to complete the design and construction at the end of 2018. Tashkent Multifunctional Ice Rink Complex will consist of the main ice rink with 12,500 seats where international matches to be held, and supplementary rink with a capacity of 300 seats.

There are various additional facilities to be built around the rink such as parking building (with 2000 parking lots), restaurants, children’s theme park and others. The ice rink will be designed as a multifunctional stadium where various ice sports games will be held such as ice hockey, short track, figure skating as well as boxing, basketball, volleyball, entertainment, performance events and others.

In addition, since Uzbekistan belongs to the Alps-Himalayas earthquake zone, it will be designed to withstand the magnitude of 9.0 earthquakes. Meanwhile, Heerim plans to actively win orders for a number of countries, including Uzbekistan, by taking advantage of project execution experience of PyeongChang Winter Olympic Master Plan.
