Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect Donald Trump on his re-election as President of the United States of America.
“I cordially congratulate you on your election as President of the United States of America and with great pleasure I express my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you,” the message says.
“Your landslide victory in the elections once again clearly confirmed that the American people actively support your policy and plans aimed at strengthening the international authority and economic power of the United States, ensuring global development and prosperity, as an experienced and skillful politician,” the congratulatory message says.
“We highly appreciate the unwavering position of the United States of America in supporting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, as well as the ongoing support provided to our large-scale reforms, which have become irreversible,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
He especially noted: "It was during your first presidential term, after our fruitful negotiations held in May 2018 at the White House, that a new stage of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States began."
"Thanks to your personal attention, the Uzbek-US relations have reached an unprecedented level of development, and our political dialogue, based on mutual trust, respect and support, has strengthened, trade and economic, military-technical, humanitarian ties and cooperation in the field of security have significantly intensified," Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
"We are interested in continuing friendly relations with the US Administration under your leadership, in the full implementation of all agreements reached at the highest and high levels. We also support the further expansion of regional cooperation within the framework of the C5+1 platform and the Agreement on Trade and Investment between Central Asia and the United States," the President of Uzbekistan noted.
He expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the parties "will effectively enrich cooperation in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, banking and financial, energy, transport spheres, as well as in agriculture, digitalization, innovation, education and other areas with new projects."
"I believe that in the future, ensuring stable peace in Afghanistan and promoting its economic and social development will become an integral part of our cooperation," the president added.
"In order to take our long-term and comprehensive relations to a new level, we look forward to your official visit to Uzbekistan," he noted.
Congratulating Donald Trump "on this historic victory," he wished him "good health, happiness and success in [his] responsible activities, and peace, harmony and sustainable progress to the friendly American people."
