Due to the mass death of bees in Russia, the price of honey is increasing. This is due to the pesticides used by farmers, said Valery Kapunin, chairman of the Russian Beekeepers Association.

"The first cause of death is, of course, pesticides, which have a harmful effect on bees and the entire environment. Today, farmers are using pesticides without moderation," said the expert.

According to him, now bees are being brought from Uzbekistan to address the problem. But southern bees have difficulty adapting to Russian conditions and often die in the winter cold, he added.

Another reason for the disappearance of bees is the mistakes of beekeepers, few of whom have studied their trade in special courses, said Kapunin.

Reportedly, the price of honey has increased by 30-50% against the background of the mass death of bees in the main honey-producing regions of Russia.
