The MPs passed amendments to the Political Parties Law. They, in particular, proposed to ban the creation and activities of political parties of foreign countries and their divisions in Uzbekistan.

Also, they passed the amendments to the Financing of political parties law proposing to raise the annual amount of funding for the statutory activities of parties is formed at the rate of 2.5% (previously - 2%) of the base calculated value established on September 1 (previously - January 1) of the year preceding the year of allocation of these funds, multiplied by the number of citizens, included in the voter lists at the last elections to the Legislative Chamber.

Public funds will be distributed based on the results of the last elections to the Legislative Chamber, in the following order: 40% - in equal shares between parties, 60% - in proportion to the number of deputy seats received by parties in the lower house of parliament.

While, if the number of deputies changes, the redistribution of state funds is not carried out.

There are five registered political parties in the country: the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People - Liberal Democratic Party, the Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival) Democratic Party, the Adolat (Justice) Social Democratic Party, and the People's Democratic Party and Ecological party.
