According to UNESCO's 2021 report on students studying abroad (the most recent 2-year report has not yet been released), Chinese and Indian students have the most students studying abroad.
The number of Chinese students studying abroad was 1 million, while the number of Indian students reached 508,000. They are followed by Vietnam, Germany and Uzbekistan. Reportedly, 137,000 students from Vietnam, 126,000 from Germany, 110,000 from Uzbekistan, 106,000 from France, 103,000 from the USA and 99,000 from Syria are studying abroad.
The USA has become the main country receiving foreign students. In 2021, the United States enrolled 833,000 students. While, 601,000 foreign students study in Great Britain, 378,000 in Australia, 376,000 in Germany and 318,000 in Canada.
