US sanctions have been imposed on the Uzbek company Mvizion, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC) announced in a new package of sanctions.

The activities of 12 Russian and 1 Uzbek companies were stated to be “contrary to the interests of US national security and foreign policy.” According to the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security, they support Russia's military "through the procurement, development and proliferation of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles."

According to the Uzbek Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, Mvizion was registered on June 14, 2022 with an registered capital of 1 million soums. The main activity is “wholesale trade of electronic and telecommunication equipment and spare parts.”

Igor Nikolaevich Ievlev is listed as the sole owner and director.

Also included in the sanctions list is the Russian drone manufacturer ZALA Aero, Aeroscan (the parent organization of ZALA Aero), which produces, among other things, the Lancet loitering munitions that Russian forces are using in the war against Ukraine and reconnaissance drones.

Previously, the United States imposed sanctions against Akhangarancement, the Digital Invest company that owns a stake in Ucell and the operator of the labeling system in Uzbekistan, as well as some individuals.
