Uzbekistan Pension Fund said that raising the retirement age was not on the table. “The Pension Fund is not currently reviewing this matter or has not received any proposal”. They urged Uzbeks to have no worry about this.

Earlier, World Bank experts recommended that the Uzbek authorities raise the retirement age up to 65 years.

In their opinion, the best option would be to slowly (3-4 months per year) increase the retirement age to 65 years, starting from 2025.

Uzbekistan is the only former Soviet country where the retirement age is 55 for women and 60 for men.
