The Chinese Sino-Wind Energy unveiled plans to set up a wind turbine blade manufacturing plant in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the company's director Ma Yinhu.
According to the presentation showcased to the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the Navoi province last week, the project will cost an estimated $50 million and create 400 jobs.
In addition, the local-provided segment (goods, services, technologies and labor produced and provided within the country) in the project is estimated at $10 million (20%). The share of local raw materials in production will be 28% ($14 million). While, the project is planned to cover 100% of imports worth $82 million.
The launch of the plant is scheduled for December 20, 2025.
The company director Ma Yinhu said that the products are also planned to be marketed to the Central Asian market. According to him, due to the large size, large areas are required for the production and transportation of blades.
Sino-Wind Energy, founded in 2008, is a manufacturer of rotor blades for wind turbines. Today, the company has three large production bases in China with an annual production capacity of 500 sets.
In August, president Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the launch ceremony of two wind power plants and wind turbine parts and heating radiators production unit projects. The head of state then noted that by 2030, it is planned to build 10 wind power plants with a total capacity of 10.3 GW in Karakalpakstan.
China's Universal Energy also plans to build two wind power plants with a total capacity of 500 MW in the Samarkand and Jizzakh provinces.
In July, Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power sold a 35% stake in two wind power plants in the Bukhara province to China Southern Power Grid International.
