Tashkent based Bundyokor ended an 18-match winless streak in the AFC Champions League on Monday following a 2-0 victory over Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia in Group C.

Although already eliminated from the competition, the Uzbek side shot out the blocks at Bunyodkor Stadium with an early goal when defender Akramjon Komilov headed home following a corner and, while Al Ahli created opportunities, it was Bunyodkor who continued to have the better of the chances heading into the break.

Eldor Shomurodov then doubled the hosts’ lead five minutes into the second period, while the visitors rarely threatened to launch a comeback as Al Ahli missed the chance to advance to the last 16 with a game to spare and now face a crunch tie with Zobahan on Matchday Six.
