Odil Akhmedov had played for the Uzbekistan national team since 2007. He took part in two Asian Cups. On September 2, 2015 he became the captain of the national team.
In 2011-2014, the footballer played for Anji FC, and in 2014-2016 - Krasnodar. Since 2016, he played for the Chinese sides Guangzhou Evergrande and Cangzhou Mighty Lions.
Earlier on June 19, he announced his retirement from the national team of Uzbekistan.
