Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) has appointed Vadim Abramov as the head coach of Uzbekistan national football team. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon after finalizing contractual process with the UFA.

Abramov will be assisted by Timur Kapadze (assistant coach), Mirko Yelicic (physical trainer)and Denis Ivankov (goalkeeper coach), the UFA said.

Earlier, the UFA announced the termination of the contract with Hector Cuper, who had held the post since August 2018.

Vadim Abramov headed the Tashkent-based clubs Tractor (2003−2007) and Lokomotiv (2008−2010), Kazakhstani Astana FC (2013). The Uzbekistan national team under his helms took fourth place in the Asian Cup 2011.
