Uzbekistan represented by Nodirbek Abdusattarov, Shamsiddin Vohidov, Sitora Saparova, Zhavohir Sindarov and Nodirbek Yakubboev won the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad 2018, Uzbekistan Chess Association said in a statement.
Uzbekistan in nine rounds defeated Hungary (4: 0), Poland (3: 1), Moldova (3.5: 0.5), Russia (3: 1), India (3: 1), Ukraine ( 3.5: 0.5) and lost to the US team (1.5: 2.5).
“This has been Uzbekistan’s first ever gold medal in this tournament,” the statement said.
