The Uzbekistan Football Association announced that it had successfully finalized talks with Hector Cúper, who from now will be coaching the Uzbekistan national team.
Hector Cúper was the head coach of the Egyptian national team at the World Cup in Russia and also won silver medal of the African Nations Cup in 2017.

Following defeats in Egypt's three group games at the tournament, Cúper's contract, due to expire at the end of the tournament, was not renewed.

Hector Cúper will be presented as the new head coach on August 6 at 15:00 in the conference hall of the National Olympic Committee, where the terms of the contract and further plans of the national team will also be announced.
