President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed decree creating the National Anti-Doping Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, following the agreement between the National Olympic Committee and WADA reached last autumn, the president’s press service reported.

The measure is aimed at promoting "healthy and fair sports, efficient implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code and standards in Uzbekistan and facilitating conditions for preparation of Uzbek athletes for the Tokyo Summer Olympics and Paralympics in 2020."

The National Anti-Doping Agency will be responsible for implementation and application of programs of Anti-Doping Administration & Management Systems (ADAMS),  thus getting access to the world database and provide accurate information about doping test results of Uzbek athletes.

The decree also provides for the establishment of a Sports Psychology Bureau under the National Olympic Committee.

Uzbekistan ratified the International Convention against Doping in Sport in 2010.
