German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock and executives of a number of German companies visited the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex on Tuesday.
During the visit, the guests visited the Kalmoqqir and Yoshlik-1 mines and got acquainted with the investment projects implemented in the Complex.
Also, German business leaders inspected the construction process of the 3rd copper beneficiation plant, which is being built as part of the Yoshlik-1 megaproject.
Future cooperation was discussed during the dialogue between the leadership of OKMK and the German delegation.
It is worth noting that for several years relations have been established between the complex and a score of German companies and organizations.
In particular, in May of this year, a contract was signed with the German Metso:Outotec on the construction of sulfuric acid shop No. 6 at Zinc plant.
Also, as part of the investment project "Development of the Yoshlik-1 Mine", gear milling equipment Gleason P2000 and Gleason P8000 was brought from Germany to the Central Repair Mechanics Plant.
In addition, cooperative relations on personnel training have been established between the complex and the mining academy of the Technical University of Freiberg, Germany.
Also, within the framework of the development of the copper industry cluster in Chirchik, a joint venture was established in cooperation with OKMK and the German state. At this enterprise, products such as copper powder, copper and copper alloy catanka, chemically resistant tanks, galvanized wires and geocomposite polymer pipes are being produced.
