On November 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock. The parties focused on the ways to further expand the Uzbek-German multifaceted cooperation and exchanged views on the current regional and international agenda.
The sides underscored the importance of continuing productive exchanges and consultations at the level of the foreign ministries, the effective use of mechanisms to support joint business initiatives and business projects, and holding cultural and humanitarian events.
The parties commended the growth of the two-way trade and investment. Year-to-date, trade has grown by 45 percent. At the end of the year, the volume of German investments is expected to top 1 billion euros. In particular, over 200 leading German companies are currently successfully operating in Uzbekistan.
In addition, financial and technical cooperation is expanding, including through the KfW bank and the German Society for International Cooperation.
Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock reiterated Germany's commitment to all-round support for the program of democratic reforms and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan.
She noted interest in the further advancing cooperation in green economy, innovations, the use of resource-saving and ecofriendly technologies, and the introduction of advanced educational methods.
