On September 22, in New York, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, a ministerial meeting of the countries of Central Asia and the United States of America was held in the C5+1 format.

During the event, the heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the United States of America discussed topical issues of cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.

They exchanged views on ways to expand trade and investment cooperation in the C5+1 format in order to ensure sustainable economic development of Central Asia.

In his speech, the head of the delegation of Uzbekistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov noted the demand for C5+1 and the significant progress made to improve the effectiveness of cooperation in this format.

He announced Uzbekistan’s proposals within the framework of C5 + 1, including the introduction of international standards in the field of agriculture and the textile industry in the countries of Central Asia, the development of alternative transport routes, the promotion of the “green agenda”, and ensuring food security.

The parties reached an agreement to continue close ties at high and expert levels in the C5+1 format, as well as to take concrete measures aimed at achieving practical results.
