Deputy PM/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khojaev held talks with Iran's Oil Minister Javad Avji in Samarkand on SUnday.
At the meeting, the parties discussed exchange of experience and raising the potential of personnel, the establishment of cooperation in such areas as the organization of production and supply of equipment for the needs of the oil-gas and petrochemical industries in joint enterprises.
The parties considered the possibility of joint implementation of projects on modernization of oil refineries in Uzbekistan, production of catalysts that meet international standards for the needs of the petrochemical industry, and organization of supply of drilling rigs at reasonable prices. The Iranian minister expressed readiness to take measures to attract direct investment in the implementation of projects.
The sides discussed prospects for establishing cooperation in the scientific field, taking into account the improvement of experience and qualifications of oil and gas industry employees. An agreement was reached with Iran's leading scientific research centers on the joint development of a program for training employees of enterprises operating in the fields of gas condensate and liquefied gas production using GTL technology.
At the end of the negotiations, the parties agreed to jointly develop a Road Map for the continuation of partnership relations and the implementation of the discussed projects and initiatives.
