At Avaza center of congresses in Turkmenbashi city, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedova held talks in the narrow format.
The two leaders noted the consistent development of cooperation between the two countries in all fields and that this visit of the President of Uzbekistan will give a new impetus to bilateral partnership ties which are based on mutual trust, respect and interest, and will serve to bring the ties to a higher level.
The Presidents exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation between the countries and regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The Heads of States stressed that there are plenty of opportunities to further expand the scope of the practical outcomes of the agreements reached within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan in March this year, enriching the links with new content.
It is no accident that we meet at Avaza, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. Uzbekistan aims to reach to the Caspian Sea and international transport corridors via Turkmenistan's ports.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev confirmed the interest of the Uzbek side in enhancing cooperation, including in such promising areas as the hydrocarbons and power, agriculture, and industrial sector. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan highly appreciates and supports Turkmenistan's initiatives on the formation of transit and transport corridors of regional and international importance.
The sides underscored that the inauguration of the Turkmenabat-Farab rail and road bridges on March 7 this year will play a key role for the successful economic development of both states, their integration into the system of global links.
The sides particularly underscored the peaceful foreign policies of the two states, mutual support of each other on international issues, the similarity of approaches to the prevention of various threats and challenges. Both Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are proponents of joint counteraction and struggle against terrorism, religious extremism, transnational organized crime, smuggling of weapons and narcotic drugs.
The two countries have a unanimous position that the development of regional integration is an important factor for further strengthening peace and stability in Central Asia and for ensuring dynamic development. The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan exchanged views on strengthening and developing cooperation between the two states.
